The Chalcidian-Type Helmet was made around early 6th Century BC, and evolved from the Corinthian Helmet. The Chalcidian Helmet came with two types, one with fixed cheek pieces, and one with hinged cheek pieces. This helmet also had a cut out for the ears and a larger viewing angle for the eyes, making a lighter and improved alternative for the Corinthian-Style Helmet (Connolly, 62).
