Many different styles of shin guards that the Greeks used have been found. The most popular one were made out of bronze. They are made a lot like shin guards that you would find soccer players use but made out of bronze or metal. The Hoplites used Bronze shin Guards during there battles along with their breastplates, helmets, shoulder pads, high thigh guards and often (but not always) their foot protectors.

Before bronze or other hard metals/materials were used, the Greeks would use leather to protect their shins. Often times, the shin guards that were made out of leather would go down over the foot and have straps on the back to tighten them.
